ABOUT

Born in the late 1970s, Baret La Vida’s life has been a fusion of art and science, nurtured by his parents’ diverse interests in antiquities, art, mathematics, and astronomy. His early academic path in engineering laid the foundation for his analytical approach to art, which blossomed into a profound fascination with digital photography in 2002. By 2010, armed with his first reflex camera, photography became his primary artistic focus, allowing him to capture the world through a unique lens.

In 2014, Baret was introduced to the world of generative art, but it wasn’t until 2021 that he deeply immersed himself in this field. His exploration culminated in the publication of his first generative artworks in 2022, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his artistic journey. Baret’s work is driven by his desire to explore and communicate the intricate dialogue between science and art, a reflection of his two great passions.

CAREER

Baret La Vida’s career is a blend of technical expertise and artistic exploration. His academic journey began with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, where he developed a strong foundation in analytical thinking and technical precision. These skills seamlessly complemented his growing interest in arts, leading him to take on roles as an Art Director at The Sports Log and as an Art Advisor at The Forestry Log, both at UMP Madrid. In these positions, Baret applied his unique perspective to guide the visual direction of publications focused on sports and nature, respectively.

In 2002, Baret’s passion for photography took center stage, and he began capturing landscapes and portraits with a dedication that led to his work being exhibited at MadPhoto in 2011. As a generative artist, Baret’s work has gained recognition, culminating in his role as a curator at BlindGallery in 2023, where he curated generative art collections for their Seed Edition. In 2024, he was curated for the final collection for Bright Moments, concluding their three-year journey with a profound exploration of generative art.
