DocT
Revisiting Elsewhere
A return to feelings that came before facts.

SCENES FOR A MEMORY YOU CANNOT FILE.

REVISITING ELSEWHERE

DocT builds small theatres where symbolism meets plain daylight. The works do not depict specific events. They are carriers for feelings we knew before we understood the words for them: Awe, mischief, risk, tenderness.

The scenes are pared back and evenly lit so the viewer finishes the story. That space is the point.

Revisiting Elsewhere matters now because memory has become searchable, yet feelings are not.

Quote

“With everything happening in the world right now, I couldn’t help but being strongly reminded of my time working in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq. Those experiences are always with me—and honestly, they’re a big part of why I started making art in the first place.”

DocT

A STUDY OF RISK, WONDER AND THE SPACE BETWEEN.

CHILDHOOD AT ARM’S LENGTH

These figures are near yet unreachable. Eyes down, gestures contained, they refuse simple readings of innocence or threat. Here they deliver feelings. The distance invites projection, and with projection comes recognition. What returns is not the scene you lived but the voltage you remember.

SYMBOLS UNDER DAYLIGHT

Apples, fish, snakes, uniforms. We know the stories. Flat light and spare sets strip sermon from symbols so texture can do the work. Each object carries two truths at once: study & appetite – danger & wisdom – beauty & approval, reminding you that the world is made of contrasts.

COLOUR AS A SWITCH

Stable greens offer room to think. Small reds decide where the eye lands first. Colour functions as a memory switch rather than a brand choice.

WHAT’S THE FIRST THING YOU REMEMBER

BEING TOLD NOT TO TOUCH?

WHAT’S THE FIRST THING YOU REMEMBER BEING TOLD NOT TO TOUCH?

ONE FEATHER, MANY ECHOES

At the centre of this set is a single white feather. It is both an object and a signal: weightless, but capable of carrying meaning across works.

On Bitcoin, this feather is the parent inscription: the primary record from which a linked family of artworks extends.

Each child inscription is a variation in tone, gesture, or scene, connected back to this origin. One quiet thing, observed from many angles, reveals how far a single memory can travel.

TO THE ONES WHO STILL WONDER

We create art and moments for the parts of us that never stopped noticing, the quiet observer, the curious child, the one who finds meaning in small, unlikely places. If that’s the journey you’re on, you’re already one of us.
